Hilton, the American multinational hospitality giant, will operate the world’s first Warner Bros Hotel.
The WB Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, scheduled to open in 2021, will be a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton putting it in the upscale section of Hilton’s expansive portfolio.
Located opposite the theme park Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, the unique hotel will offer superfans the opportunity to stay in a hotel surrounded by some of the most renowned characters of Warner Bros.
Hilton said, “Once finished, the WB Abu Dhabi will allow guests to experience recognizable characters from across Warner Bros.’ iconic collection of film, television and comics.”
The news follows an agreement between Mohamed Abdalla Alzaabi, CEO of Miral, and Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, President of Hilton MEA & Turkey. The two companies already have a partnership, having inked a management agreement for the forthcoming Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Hotel three years ago.
The $112 million WB Abu Dhabi, a collaboration between Abu Dhabi’s Miral and Warner Bros is already more than 75 percent complete. In addition to WB-branded restaurants, a WB store, a spa, a fitness center, two pools and a children’s club, the property will include 257 rooms over eight floors.
Hilton Curio Collection
The hotel is Abu Dhabi’s first Curio Collection hotel. The Hilton brand is a collection of four and five-star hotels around the world, each with something special or rare to offer. The Al Seef Heritage Hotel in Dubai is part of the collection, as are several very special hotels around the world, including the Trafalgar St James London in the heart of the capital of the United Kingdom and the Memphis Central Station within the Tennessee rail hub of 1914.
DoubleTree by Hilton
Another hotel on Yas Island is also being opened by Hilton – DoubleTree – Yas Island Residences. It is within walking distance from both Warner Bros World and Yas Waterworld and is on track to open in 2021.
The hotel is the capital’s first DoubleTree and will be targeted towards leisure travelers and families, with connecting suites and additional in-room amenities available. It will feature 156 units in studio, one, two or three-bed options. Rooms will have a kitchenette and guests will have access to a gym, pool and selection of recreational activities. It too will open in 2021.
