One of the world’s leading NRI welfare organizations, World NRI Council is inviting applications and nominations for the much-anticipated 2022 edition of its Pravasi Ratna Awards.
India-based World NRI Council is a not-for-profit organization for the welfare and empowerment of Non-Residential Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and ex-NRIs who have returned back from their service to India.
Who can apply?
Individuals (NRIs/PIOs) and Organizations (led by NRIs or PIOs) located in India or abroad can apply/be nominated for the honor if they have contributed to the physiological,
psychological and financial empowerment and betterment of the NRI community, residents of the country they serve, and ultimately the motherland, India, through their profession/service (for Individuals) or through operations, social initiatives, and ventures (for Organizations).
NRI welfare organizations functioning abroad, supporting the Indian diaspora in their expatriate life can also apply or be nominated for the Awards. Organizations in India helping rehabilitation and financial stability of NRIs returning from abroad can also be considered eligible for the Awards.
How to apply?
Direct Applications/Nominations for Pravasi Ratna Award can be made by visiting the World NRI Council website.
Basic Information and Terms & Conditions of both Awards have been uploaded as PDF documents on the World NRI Council website and can be downloaded by clicking on the Award name placed on the top menu bar.
Applications
Apart from the personal and professional bio-data, applicants and nominators must provide a ‘statement of purpose’ not exceeding 500 words, describing why they or their nominations must be considered for the Awards.
Deadline
Applications/Nominations must be submitted via email to [email protected] on or before 5 PM, 31 August 2022.
Any questions, remarks, and recommendations (in English or Hindi only) can be shared in the same email as well.
Winners
All winners from the respective segments will be honored with the Pravasi Ratna Award Trophy and Certificate. Meanwhile, winners from the art, social & culture, and sports segments will be further supported with a cash prize of 50,000 Indian Rupees ($627).
The Award Ceremony is expected to take place between the 15th of September and the 15th of October in Dubai.
Fair and Transparent Process
In order to avoid any bias, the organizers have restricted officials and representatives of the World NRI Council from applying or being nominated for the Award, the statement to the press revealed.
The organizers have also emphasized that any decision taken by the Award Jury (chosen by World NRI Council) will be final and would not be open for scrutiny by anyone other than by the Directors of the World NRI Council.
Rashtra Ratna Award
World NRI Council is also opening opportunities to honor exceptional Indians and Indian Organizations who have made a substantial contribution to the physiological, psychological, and financial empowerment and betterment of Indian citizens, and their motherland, India itself.
Deserving Indian citizens and organizations will be awarded with the Rashtra Ratna Award on the same stage which will host the Pravasi Ratna Awards.
