Qatar’s leading telecom service provider, Vodafone Qatar has secured the latest edition of the ISO 22301:2019 International Certification for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) in recognition of the resilience of its high-quality GigaNet network, range of services, and responsiveness to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The certification follows a transition and recertification audit by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and complements Vodafone’s existing Business Continuity Management (BCM) standards. Being at the forefront of the rollout of 5G and fiber networks in Qatar, Vodafone consistently reinforces its position as a global leader in BCM best practices.
“The spread of COVID-19 across Qatar is having a significant impact on our day-to-day lives, changing the way we interact with others, introducing new ways of working and curtailing our movements as we adhere to new measures introduced by Qatar government to limit infection and protect the more vulnerable within our societies. Our Business Continuity Plans have been thoroughly proven and tested to manage any business disruption.”
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Meshaal Mohammed Al-Ibrahim, Head of Corporate Security of Vodafone Qatar, noted, “As a provider of critical connectivity and communications services enabling our digital society, Vodafone committed to offering our services in a fast responsive manner, as a critical part of the pandemic response to this ongoing crisis.”
As one of the champions of the ISO 22301:2019 standard in Qatar, Vodafone is dedicated to maintaining network quality of service, providing ultimate network capacity, and services to all organizations. Obtaining the BCMS ensures that all the facilities of the telecom operator will continue to offer voice, messaging, data, and fixed communications across the country.
