UAQ Department of Tourism and Archaeology has signed an agreement with Lakhraim Group in order to develop the tourism sector in the emirate.
Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Umm Al Qaiwain Tourism and Archaeology Department, attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement.
The agreement was signed by Haitham Sultan Al Ali, Director-General of the Umm Al Qaiwain Tourism and Archaeology Department, and Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, the new CEO of Millennium Hotels and Resorts and the Lakhraim Group on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2024.
The agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment. Moreover, it seeks to develop tourism in the Emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain and contribute to the local economy’s growth.
According to the statement, recognized as a vital and sustainable tributary within the tourism sector, this initiative focuses on creating appealing tourism investment opportunities and enhancing various tourist destinations in the emirate.
UAQ Department of Tourism and Archaeology was established by the Emiri Decree No. 01 of 2019 issued by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of UAQ.
The Department of Tourism and Archaeology aims to coordinate the development and promotion of tourism locally and internationally in line with the cultural heritage and authentic values of Emirati society. It focuses on promoting the Emirate’s historical and cultural heritage and preserving monuments and national identity, bringing many benefits to the nation.
