Through “nature-based” ventures including a pop-up hotel concept, scheduled to open in the second half of 2021, the investment plan will primarily concentrate on establishing Jebel Jais as a “standalone destination” with additional plans for cliff-side accommodation.
Besides, a mountain lodge, located adjacent to the emirate’s popular hiking trails will provide luxury accommodation to the visitors, when it opens in 2022.
Jais Coaster, a summer bobsled design inspired by the Alps which will open in the second quarter of 2021 will enable visitors to travel through the landscape.
Raki Phillips, CEO, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said, “With the introduction of our new investment strategy, we aim to allocate additional funds towards Jebel Jais to enrich visitor experiences and to accommodate the increasing demand for travel experiences set in expansive, open and natural environments”.
Different government departments in Ras Al Khaimah have been working on a long-term investment plan to establish ongoing funding for the expansion of Jebel Jais attractions for nature-based tourism.
