The delegation met during the UAE-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent from 14th to 16th October, with 200 public and private sector representatives.
UAE trade delegation, led by Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the Federation of UAE Chambers and First Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, engaged in discussions on commercial partnerships with Uzbek business owners and investors.
Organized by the Federation of UAE Chambers in collaboration with Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Uzbek Embassy in the UAE, the forum aimed to strengthen trade ties. Dr. Al Dhaheri emphasized the UAE’s interest in Central Asian markets and the importance of expanding Emirati businesses globally.
UAE-Uzbekistan trade has seen significant growth, with the exchange between the two nations reaching around US$1.9 billion. Key sectors of investment include energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, and logistics, with the UAE now ranked among Uzbekistan’s largest trading partners.
Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that the Chamber has signed six agreements with UAE entities, facilitating the establishment of over 320 Emirati-owned companies in Uzbekistan. These include more than 120 joint ventures and 200 fully foreign-owned firms.
The forum also featured presentations from Uzbek officials and experts, discussing the advantages of doing business in Uzbekistan and addressing questions from the UAE delegation. Additionally, more than 125 bilateral meetings took place between UAE representatives and Uzbek officials, experts, and investors, focusing on deepening economic cooperation.
