The United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport has climbed from 15th place in 2023 to 8th in 2024, according to Get Golden Visa’s Passport Ranking 2024.
This reflects the power of the UAE passport as the fastest-growing in strength, increasing the global mobility of Emirati citizens who now enjoy visa-free travel to 187 countries.
The passport ranking of UAE has doubled in 2024, becoming one of the most powerful passports in the world.
The UAE’s announcement to aim with the UAE Passport Force Initiative contributed to this ranking increase in the passport index results. At the end of May 2017, the UAE’s passport was among the top 20 powerful passports, and the country had a visa-free score of 147.
The Emirati passport holders now have visa-free travel to 183 countries as of 2024.
Why is the UAE’s passport powerful among other European countries?
The UAE shows that it has an accountable number of international visitors, is reliable and stable, and has a great reputation as a result. Ultimately, all these criteria contribute to the ranking position of the UAE’s passport.
Another reason is that this is mainly boosted from its Schengen visa waiver obtained in 2015. The UAE is the first Arab nation whose citizens enjoy a visa waiver to the 26 Schengen countries, which make up most of Europe.
Tourism as a key player
Dubai’s tourism sector continues to demonstrate its robust growth potential and attractive proposition for global travellers in H1, 2024. Number of international overnight visitors in the first half of the year was 9% higher than the same period in 2023.
H1 growth aligns with the goal of the D33 Agenda to further consolidate Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for business and leisure.
