The UAE has hosted the first session of the UAE-Estonia Business Council (UEBC) on the sidelines of the Estonia Business Forum and the Estonian National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The session organized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) was attended by Mr. Abdulnasser Alshaali, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at MoFAIC, Mr. Humaid Ben Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Salem Alshamsi, the Emirati Co-chair of the UEBC, Mr. Lauri Lugna, Chairman of Enterprise Estonia, Mr. Taavi Einaste, the Estonian Deputy Co-chair of the UEBC, and members of the UEBC also attended the session.
According to the statement, the first session included presentations from UAE and Estonia on important contributions expected from the concerned institutions.
During the session, Mr. Alshaali praised the efforts of the UAE and Estonia in establishing and activating the council within a short period of time, which will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the business sectors in both countries.
The Assistant Minister expressed his confidence that the council would institutionalize the distinguished and constructive bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Estonia.
Further, Mr. Alshaali noted that the council would encourage the private sector to create opportunities that will deepen cooperation and achieve the desired growth.
For his part, Mr. Al Shamsi emphasized the important role that the council will play as a platform for strengthening economic relations and further expanding existing partnerships between the UAE and Estonia.
