The UAE delegation led by GCAA Director-General Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi aimed to enhance bilateral air transport and connectivity.
The United Arab Emirates, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), held air services consultations with the Civil Aviation Authority of the People’s Republic of China (CAAC) on 16th and 17th July in Beijing.
The negotiations concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase air connectivity between the airports of the UAE and China. Both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in the civil aviation sector and explore new initiatives to strengthen bilateral aviation relations.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi highlighted the GCAA’s dedication to improving air transport services, bolstering its international presence, and benefiting the UAE’s national carriers. He praised the agreements reached, anticipating a positive impact on the economic sectors of mutual interest.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration and expertise exchange in aviation security, safety, air transport, and industry investments. Al Suwaidi also noted that the first Air Connectivity Forum between the two countries, held on 15th July, was crucial in achieving positive negotiation outcomes and stressed the need for regular forums to support and strengthen economic and trade relations.
