TRENDS Research and Advisory has hosted scientific symposium to foster research partnerships and strategic cooperation between China and Arab nations.
The event was held at TRENDS’ head office in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Chinese Communist Party and Bayt Alhekma Culture Group.
The scientific symposium titled “Future Cooperation between Chinese and Arab Think Tanks in the New Era,” was attended by a high-level Chinese delegation led by Sun Dongsheng, Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Chinese Communist Party, and Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of China to the UAE, along with several researchers and experts from both sides.
The event emphasized the importance of intellectual and cultural cooperation, fostering mutual understanding and establishing research platforms between China and Arab countries to develop solutions to address future challenges.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, stressed the significance of cooperation among think tanks, highlighting that TRENDS has been striving since its launch to strengthen those links and has successfully forged extensive research partnerships across the world, including with China.
Abdullah Al-Ali also mentioned TRENDS’ success in organizing the First TRENDS BRICS Think Tanks Summit in Moscow, which explored how research and media institutions can develop policies and strengthen the soft power of BRICS nations.
Furthermore, TRENDS CEO affirmed that cooperation among think tanks has become an urgent necessity in light of increasing global challenges, as think tanks can contribute by sharing ideas and insights to develop comprehensive strategies to address those challenges.
Sun Dongsheng highlighted the importance of bolstering cooperation between China and Arab countries to achieve mutual modernization and build a community of shared destiny.
