Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company MediaTek has launched the Kompanio 900T chipset for tablets, portable notebooks, and other devices.
According to the statement, the Kompanio 900T is developed on the 6nm process and, it has an octa-core CPU architecture with two ARM Cortex-A78 cores and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores. Further, it has an ARM Mali-G68 GPU as well as a MediaTek APU (AI processor).
The company said in a statement that the new MediaTek Kompanio 900T chipset will be available soon in the global market. But there is no official information about the launching of the first device powered by the MediaTek Komapnio 900T.
Kompanio 900T Chipset Features
The new Kompanio 900T supports LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage. The display is adaptable to a resolution of 2K with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
According to the reports, “The chipset integrates a 5G modem with support for SA and NSA bands and full coverage of 5G sub-6GHz, along with 5G dual-carrier aggregation and Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services.”
The mobile chipset comes with a MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology that allows longer battery life even when using faster connectivity. The MediaTek Kompanio 900T features 2×2 MIMO, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as allows for multiple peripheral extensions.
The MiraVision image quality engine and AI-enhanced video display technologies from MediaTek claim to improve SDR video footage to near HDR quality while also upgrading HDR10 to near HDR10+. Further, the Kompanio chipset supports HDR10+ video playback image quality enhancement features in real-time.
