Sharjah Department of Government Relations’ (DGR) Chairman Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi has discussed means of strengthening collaboration between the emirate and Paris in vital sectors including culture, education, and tourism with French delegation headed by HE Nathalie Kennedy, Consul General of the French Republic in Dubai.
During the meeting, Ms. Kennedy emphasized Paris’ willingness to strengthen economic and cultural links with Sharjah, noting that the emirate’s longtime relationship with various French cities had resulted in countless successful partnerships in several sectors.
Further, she stressed that “the meeting was a timely opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between the two sides.”
Sheikh Fahim has highlighted how Sharjah’s cultural projects serve as a bridge to promote cultural interaction and dialogue with other nations and cultures.
“Sharjah is witnessing qualitative growth in vital knowledge and innovation-based sectors. It also offers unique investment and partnership opportunities across several sustainable tourism projects in the eastern and central regions of the emirate,” Sheikh Fahim further added
The DGR Chairman briefed the team on Sharjah’s cultural legacy and heritage, highlighting the emirate’s archaeology, natural history, and modern art museums, which include historical artifacts reaching back to the earliest eras of Arab history, among other things. He also emphasized the emirate’s unique tourist destinations, which contribute to Sharjah’s distinct cultural identity.
Earlier this month, DGR discussed ways to strengthen economic collaborations and framework of commercial and investment partnerships between the emirate and Guatemala with a high-level delegation from Guatemala.
