Emirates Airlines, the largest airline in the UAE, has installed new self-service check-in and bag drop stations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to make travel as safe as possible for passengers.

In Terminal 3 at DXB, the airline has installed 16 of the latest bag drop machines. Without having to interact with Emirates staff, the machines allow travelers to check themselves and their baggage in for a flight.

There are also 8 new self-service kiosks that can be used by those who are flying without check-in baggage. The kiosks are developed in house at Emirates, in collaboration with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Dubai Airports.

The self-service kiosks are available for those travelling to most destinations except the US, Canada, China, India or Hong Kong as additional pre-boarding safety criteria are required for passengers travelling to these places.

The new technology helps passengers to check-in, collect their boarding passes, choose seats and drop off their baggage in a socially distant manner. The self-service kiosks also aim to reduce waiting times during peak hours for all passengers.

Emirates staff will be available nearby in case you need any assistance

Emirates staff will be on standby to assist travelers if they need it and the facilities will be regularly cleaned and disinfected in-between uses.

The bag-drop and check-in machines will soon be updated to include touchless technology and will even help travelers to rebook flights through the system.

In the coming months, Emirates says it plans to add more self-service facilities at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3.
