The Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dell Technologies to launch a comprehensive program to strengthen institutional artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across government entities.
The initiative is designed to enhance the readiness of public sector organizations to adopt advanced technologies, enabling them to improve service delivery and elevate quality of life for residents.
The agreement was signed by HE Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of SDD, and Walid Yehia, Managing Director of Gulf at Dell Technologies, in the presence of senior officials from the Sharjah Digital Department and the Sharjah Department of Human Resources.
Under the MoU, the two entities will implement a structured program featuring hands-on training, knowledge transfer initiatives, and specialized workshops.
The program will target senior and mid-level government executives, developers, and professionals across sectors including culture, arts, and agriculture.
The initiative aims to enable government entities to develop practical AI use cases, accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies and transforming them into effective tools to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
It will also strengthen workforce readiness to keep pace with rapid technological advancements, supporting the delivery of more seamless and proactive government services.
HE Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi said that, “AI is not merely a technological tool but a key driver for redesigning government operations in Sharjah. Through this collaboration, we aim to build sustainable institutional capabilities that empower entities to leverage AI in creating a more efficient and innovative service ecosystem that enhances quality of life.”
The initiative forms part of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026–2028, which seeks to enhance government readiness, system integration, and support the development of a smart, interconnected digital ecosystem.
The partnership underscores the importance of public-private collaboration in accelerating digital transformation.
