The Saudi acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi has launched the media competition “MEDIATHON”, under the theme “Media Race,” in cooperation with Saudi Telecommunication Company (stc) to develop and stimulate the creativity of media thinking.
Dr. Al-Qasabi emphasized that MEDIATHON aims to create competition between media professionals and those interested in presenting creative initiatives and quality projects that represent innovative solutions to media challenges through partnerships with the stc Group.
The Minister of Media stated that “We are all eager to receive the ideas of creators from our citizens of this country, to achieve a better media future that meets the aspirations.”
The Minister further added that in its first edition, “Media Race” aims to develop constructive solutions to the challenges of the four categories, including traditional media presentation, media data collection, monitoring, analysis and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional training.
The project aims to create a participatory creative space for development, organize workshops to increase the impact of projects to be presented to participants, and train the best teams to improve the quality of ideas presented. The successful teams will be liaised with the concerned authorities to work on the implementation of these projects.
MEDIATHON is a media race to design and implement innovative solutions and projects for media challenges. Universities, colleges, media departments, and individuals with interest and quality initiatives can participate in the competition.
The project ideas will be submitted through the project’s portal, which will start receiving entries soon.
