The Saudi Arabian Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Minister of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Lee Jong-sik in order to strengthen the cooperation in the field of labor.
The MoU intends to exchange experiences and cooperate in various work and employment-related fields.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers meeting held in Indore, India.
Furthermore, the MoU is aligned with the Ministry of HRSD’s objectives to build and strengthen international relations with counterpart ministries worldwide and to explore more aspects of bilateral technical cooperation to achieve mutual goals effectively.
According to the statement, “The signing ceremony was preceded by a bilateral meeting during which the two sides discussed topics of common interest, and included a discussion about the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, where the two sides agreed to continue working towards strengthening future cooperation.”
During the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers meeting, Mr. Al-Rajhi affirmed the Kingdom’s support for the Indian presidency, which focuses on important issues, including addressing the global skills gap, liberal economy, sharing economic platforms, social protection and sustainable financing of social security, noting that these priorities have a tangible and continuous impact on labor and employment issues.
The Saudi Minister also presented the Kingdom’s approach to issues like skills, human resources development, and comprehensive social protection for workers, saying that “Riyadh pays special consideration to modern work patterns.”
