Saudi Arabia-based governmental institution Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) has won fifth place in the Global Safety Achievement Award organized by UK-based leading aviation entity Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), after competing with a large number of companies around the world.

The award recognizes excellence in air traffic management (ATM) safety. SANS is the only company from the Gulf and the Middle East region to be shortlisted for the award.

The achievement reflects the Kingdom’s important position in the civil aviation sector around the world, as well as its focus on air safety and the efficiency of air traffic controller performance, and consolidates the Saudi company’s position as a regional and international leader in the aviation industry.

The CANSO has launched this global award for the companies with the aim of contributing to the reduction of aviation risks during the twelve months that precede its annual presentation.

Saudi Air Navigation focuses on everything related to safety, as it has implemented specialized programs aimed at strengthening the safety culture in all its operations and in its various facilities and departments, which is reflected in the high level of air navigation safety in the Kingdom.

The company seeks to move forward to achieve more successes and to continue its path of leadership in the field of air navigation services at all levels, in light of the unlimited support that the civil aviation sector receives from wise leadership.

According to the reports, it is noteworthy that the company obtained the ISO certification for health, safety, and environmental management systems, maintenance engineering, and aviation information systems.

It has recently completed a project to supply and install navigational systems at NEOM Bay Airport in 77 days and is currently implementing several navigation system projects for airports throughout the region.

The company is considered an essential component in the success of the air transport industry because it plays a fundamental and important role in the security and safety of aircraft movement and provides air traffic services to all aircraft transiting the Kingdom’s airspace.
