Saudi Arabia has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maldives to strengthen cooperation in the fields of seaplanes and airstrips.
Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Mohamed Ameen, Maldives Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, signed the MoU, in the presence of GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej.
The signing ceremony between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Maldives took place on the sidelines of a visit by a Maldivian delegation to the Red Sea Destination.
The agreement aims to foster cooperation in the fields of seaplanes and airstrip, to enhance safety in the air transport environment by adhering to international best practices. It also focuses on implementing regulations to ensure the safety, security and sustainable growth of seaplane services.
The Red Sea Destination, a luxury tourism project being developed by Red Sea Global (RSG), aims to emerge as a world-class sustainable tourism destination in Saudi Arabia.
