Reddit, the popular online social discussion platform, has launched a new feature allowing users to translate posts into eight different languages.
This feature is aimed at improving accessibility and fostering global conversations. Initially, posts can be translated into English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and Swedish.
According to the statement, users can activate the translation by clicking the ‘translate’ button located at the top of the post, which will convert the content into the selected language based on their settings. The feature is currently only available on Android and iOS devices as well as for users logged out on the web.
In addition to translating posts, Reddit is also experimenting with translations for comments on iOS and Android platforms. This means that soon, users will be able to have a multilingual conversation experience on the platform.
Alongside this update, Reddit has revamped its Help Center, merging the Moderator Help Center with other support resources. This new central hub aims to enhance user experience and provide a comprehensive space for all types of support. The company’s recent initiative, the Mod Helper Program, is also part of these changes. The program rewards moderators for assisting their fellow moderators, further strengthening the sense of community within the platform.
These updates are part of Reddit’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, facilitate user engagement, and create an inclusive environment for its diverse user base, as per the statement.
