Qatar National Bank (QNB), a premier financial institution in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, has rolled out the latest version of Visa’s ‘Click to Pay’ service.

This marks QNB as the first bank in the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMEA) region to launch this pioneering service. The latest payment solution aims to streamline and elevate the digital shopping experience to new heights, ensuring faster, easier, and secure transactions for consumers and merchants.

The ‘Click to Pay’ service offers a seamless and secure method for consumers to make online payments, eliminating the need to type lengthy card information or passwords. Shoppers can quickly complete the purchases by looking for the ‘Click to Pay’ logo on participating websites.

The updated version has further enhanced with the introduction of Visa’s Passkey technology, which is based on FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) standards.

This pioneering service enables consumers to authenticate their transactions with biometrics, such as facial recognition or fingerprint scans without the need to enter traditional passwords or one-time passcodes.

Aligning with the global trends in digital commerce, ‘Click to Pay’ service ensures seamless experience and tackles shopping cart abandonment, a common problem for online retailers. This will enable merchants to enjoy increased sales and customer satisfaction.

Senior Executive Vice President of QNB Group Retail Banking Adel Al Malki highlighted the significance of this solution in Qatar’s digital transformation, as well as the bank’s ongoing investments in digital payments, which ensures that both merchants and customers benefit from the latest innovations in the payments industry.

“We are proud to be the first bank in CEMEA to introduce this enhanced solution, reflecting Qatar’s leadership in digital payments. The new Click to Pay service will significantly improve the online shopping experience for our cardholders and merchants,” added Al Malki.

Visa General Manager for Qatar and Kuwait Shashank Singh stressed that the partnership with QNB brings a revolutionary digital payments solution to Qatar and its pivotal role in meeting the growing demand of consumers while contributing to Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

“This is not just innovation; it’s a game-changer in digital commerce. We are delighted to partner with QNB to bring Click to Pay with PassKeys to Qatar,” added Singh.
