Qatar’s Ministry of Labor has inaugurated the Digital Transformation Management and Service Automation Unit to accelerate the implementation of the ministry’s plan to provide all services electronically.
The ministry said that “the launch of the Digital Transformation Management Unit comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy aimed at developing smart electronic services, upgrading the system of electronic services in the labor sector, and contributing to facilitating and speeding up the completion of services provided to clients.”
The Digital Transformation Management Unit will develop, update and provide more than 80 services and transactions electronically, as the transaction will be completed without the need to visit the ministry building or service offices or submit paper documents.
According to the timetable for the digital transformation process, the majority of services will be completed electronically within one year. “The unit will develop electronic services according to the needs of the customers, in order to raise the level of the service provided, whether in terms of electronic delivery or speed of delivery,” as per the statement.
The ministry noted that the launch of the unit aims to link those responsible for upgrading the e-services system to ensure the speedy delivery of the services electronically.
Further, the ministry confirmed its endeavor to launch a comprehensive electronic system for all the services it provides during the coming period. The Ministry of Labor currently provides several electronic services, including the fast track of electronic labor visas.
