Qatar’s Hamad Medical Corporation & QCS collaborate on Cancer control projects

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the principal public healthcare provider in Qatar, and Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to collaborate on cancel control, at a ceremony held in Bayt Al Dhiyafah, Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City.

The agreement was signed by the Chief of Health Facilities Development and acting Chief of Business Services, Mr. Hamad Nasser Abdulla Al Khalifa, and Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani, in the presence of several HMC executive leaders and a delegation from QCS.

The MoU aims to provide funding support for cancer control projects, including, but not limited to, patient experience, improving facilities for cancer patients, improving cancer care, and employee participation in the field of cancer control.

Mr. Al Khalifa, stated that  “HMC’s partnership with Qatar Cancer Society will pave the way for our staff to develop more innovative, high-quality, and person-centered projects that benefit our patients and the communities. At HMC, we stay true to our commitment to building an excellent healthcare system for the State of Qatar.”

HMC’s Liaison Officer who will facilitate this working relationship with QCS, Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief of Quality for the Centre for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement, Director for Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, and Chairperson of 16000 Health Sector Services, said that “I am very pleased to be part of this collaborative partnership between HMC and QCS. This will further strengthen our efforts to deliver our services with a person-centered approach to care, which results in enhancing our patients’ overall experience in HMC.”

Sheikh Dr. Al Thani, said he was delighted to seal this partnership with HMC “We support the principles and values of HMC, and QCS aims to bring these to fruition. We look forward to implementing activities that serve the mutual goals of both QCS and HMC.”
