Qatar-based Ahlibank has officially launched its digital wallet in the Qatari market in line with the bank’s strategy to give financial and e-payment services to all individuals and businesses.
‘Ahlipay’ will give users an advanced, secure, faster, and smarter payment experience. The newly launched digital wallet is based on the Qatar Central Bank’s initiative of Qatar mobile payments.
With a seamless online enrolment, all residents of Qatar (Ahlibank and non-Ahlibank customers) and visitors can download the app, register, and start using it immediately without the need to visit the branch making it hassle-free. The app is currently available in Arabic, English, Bangla, and Nepali and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
With Ahlipay, users can pay for purchases at merchants by scanning the QR code, make person-to-person transfers to anyone in Qatar 24/7 (by using only a mobile number) with no dependency on banking hours and holidays.
The app can also be used to make utility and mobile bill payments, top-up and recharge the phone through the app for users and others and add money to the e-wallet easily through Ahlibank ATMs, accounts or credit cards, or local non-Ahlibank debit cards.
“The new Ahlipay digital wallet is part of the bank’s continued commitment to launch innovative technologies and products and to provide our customers with digital and easy-to-use solutions. Ahlibank has been making major investments in technology infrastructure to improve the customer experience and serve them more efficiently. In collaboration with strategic partners, Ahlibank’s new Ahlipay digital wallet is expected to gain high demand among different age groups due to the value-added services and the ease of use it provides.”
Ahlipay merchant app is also a new and convenient way for merchants to handle their business transactions at zero set-up and rental fee-free for the first year. Ahlipay merchant QR code payments are a brand new way for businesses to sell products more conveniently, have instant access to their funds, and monitor their transaction history with peace of mind.
