The Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in partnership with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has unveiled a new service to issue establishment registrations through the Single Window Platform.
Citizens and residents can now obtain their establishment registration through the General Directorate of Passports, the unified MoI centers, or the Single Window Platform online when applying for a comprehensive incorporation service or a commercial license issuance.
Mr. Mohamed Hamad Al Nuaimi, Director of the Single Window, stated that efforts are underway to provide more services to the single window system, which has 800 foreign enterprises enrolled by 2021. The establishment registration is automatically issued together with a new commercial license, for a fee of $55, which can be paid through the single window website.
This launch is in line with the MoCI’s ongoing efforts to improve and develop its services in order to upgrade and streamline Qatar’s business service system. The new service also aims to improve the investment and trade opportunities in the country. Previously, the Ministry launched a package of 12 e-services, which have improved its dealing with the public.
These smart e-services cover the setup of establishment, comprehensive renewal, requesting a replacement for a lost commercial license, printing a commercial register extract, factory establishment, foreign companies’ branch management, comprehensive incorporation completion, factory establishment completion, branch addition, sub-license addition.
The single window system, which was started in 2019, had conducted more than 26,000 transactions and issued over 7,000 documents during 2021. The system has also adopted the use of electronic signatures and signed as many as 19,000 e-contracts with the Ministry of Justice.
