Oman-based Sohar Aluminium has inaugurated its Sohar Industrial Training Institute in order to provide trainings to the employees in the technical and vocational fields.
Sohar Industrial Training Institute is one of its kind in the Omani industrial sector. The new institute will offer soft skills training courses for employees and trainees from within and outside the company.
According to the statement, it has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and the Ministry of Labor.
Mr. Said Al Masoudi, CEO of Sohar Aluminium, said that “the establishment and development of this institute springs out of our deep belief in the importance of investing in human capital, and its long-term return.”
“Despite the institute’s short life, it was able, through the efforts of its team, to train a large number of employees and contractors, not only the company but even neighboring private and public institutions, as well as a number of organizations and companies in the aluminum sector from outside the Sultanate of Oman,” Mr. Al Masoudi added.
The institute includes several facilities such as electrical and mechanical workshops, classrooms, welding and fabrication workshop, computer lab, and a multi-purpose hall.
Further, Sohar Industrial Training Institute employs qualified and trained Omani training staff to conduct various technical and non-technical training courses and programs.
As per the statement, “The inaugural event included an overview of the programs and training services provided by the institute, and a graduation ceremony of Lean Six Sigma Green and Black Belts trainees from the company and other organizations as well.”
