Oman has been ranked seventh best global destination to travel in 2022 by Australia-based travel guide book publisher Lonely Planet.
The company said that the ranking is based on the evaluation of experts in terms of tourism destinations and adventures that attract tourists.
Lonely Planet’s report indicated that the Sultanate of Oman secured this place due to its diverse landscape which includes deserts, mountains, beaches, and cities full of life. These attractions make it a must-go destination for whoever is interested in visiting a country with cemented and deep-rooted culture and civilization.
“Oman is chock full of adventurous activities to enjoy during the cooler months and calm beaches where you can cool off during the scorching-hot summer months,” the company said.
The website listed eight different sites and places in Oman as recommended for tourists to visit. The places recommended included Muscat Governorate which is rich in forts, museums, and so on.
Lonely Planet noted that, “For visitors, this offers a rare chance to engage with the Arab world without the distorting lens of excessive wealth. Oman’s low-rise towns retain their traditional charms, and Bedouin values remain at the heart of an Omani welcome. With an abundance of natural beauty, from spectacular mountains, wind-blown deserts, and a pristine coastline, Oman is the obvious choice for those seeking out the modern face of Arabia while wanting still to sense its ancient soul.”
Cook Islands, Norway, and Mauritius have been ranked in the top three countries to visit followed by Belize, Malawi, Slovenia, Anguilla, Oman, Nepal, Malawi, and Egypt, the company added.
