The Cyber Defense Center in Oman and Kaspersky signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation and conduct exchanges in ICT-cybersecurity related fields, paying particular attention to national cooperation and education.

Through this agreement, Oman Cyber Defense Center and Kaspersky will collaborate to exchange knowledge on security risks and the spread of malware.

Kaspersky will provide advisory information to assist in the investigation and elimination of cybersecurity incidents. The collaboration also entails sharing indicators of compromise and providing information on promising solutions in the cyber field.

The Cyber Defense Center and Kaspersky will implement and organize awareness-building, educational programs and promote scientific and technological research. Technical workshops, conferences, educational visits, and trainings will be conducted to boost awareness of potential threats across all sectors.

Toufic Derbass, Managing Director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Kaspersky, said that, “Our collaborative efforts will importantly help to stimulate business and economic growth. Strong awareness of the cybersecurity field in Oman will provide vital protection against cyber criminals and their threats.”
