National Bank of Oman (NBO) has unveiled the Fintech Accelerator Hackathon under the NBO Fintech Accelerator Program.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in NBO’s efforts to drive innovation, strengthen entrepreneurship, and transform Oman’s fintech sector. Registrations for the event have started, with the Hackathon scheduled from 30 August to 1 September 2024, at the NBO head office.

The NBO Fintech Accelerator Hackathon seeks to revolutionize Oman’s fintech landscape by empowering the nation’s brightest minds to develop innovative solutions in order to lead the industry forward. This initiative falls in line with Oman Vision 2040, highlighting the bank’s commitment to supporting the country’s economy by promoting innovation and creating sustainable opportunities within the sector.
This Hackathon, designed with an aim to foster innovation, is the first initiative under the NBO Fintech Accelerator Program. The program seeks to inspire and assist the next generation of fintech entrepreneurs by offering them resources, mentorship, and access to a broad network of industry contacts.
The event aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, to boost the nation’s competitiveness through innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants will get the opportunity to attend business development sessions and engage with experts. In addition to this, they will also be equipped with the tools to bring their visionary ideas to life.
