Nakheel, a member of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded an AED 810 million ($221 million) contract to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD for the marine works on Palm Jebel Ali.

Jan De Nul Dredging, a part of Jan De Nul Group, will handle dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling and sand placement. The company is set to complete the entire marine works at Palm Jebel Ali in just over two years. By the first quarter of 2025, the first eight fronds of the project are expected to be site-ready. This will allow the commencement of villa infrastructure and civil works.

The construction of a new public access road has commenced following Nakheel’s recent award of two major infrastructure contracts, which will provide access from Sheikh Zayed Road along with roadway and lighting enhancements from the mainland to Palm Jebel Ali.

Palm Jebel Ali, revealed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will provide sumptuous lifestyle amenities for residents, families and visitors. The project supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and marks the beginning of a new growth corridor in the Jebel Ali area, contributing to the Emirate’s expansion.
