After securing the eighth place on Bloomberg Billionaires Index last week, India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani has moved past Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to become the 6th richest person in the world.

On the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the real-time net worth of Mr. Ambani who has also become Asia’s richest, raised by $2.17 billion to touch $72.4 billion in the last 24 hours.

The Reliance Industries chairman has added almost $7.9 billion to his fortune in the past 22 days amid a record-breaking rally in the conglomerate’s shares due to substantial investment inflow from companies including Facebook Inc., Silver Lake and, most recently, Qualcomm Inc toward Jio Platforms, its digital arm.
