The Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City, also known as Misk City, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia in order to explore opportunities in smart city technologies, sustainability, and youth empowerment.
The Misk City is the first non-profit city of its kind in the world, aiming to build a vibrant, sustainable community that attracts residents and visitors.
The partnership aims to leverage both organizations’ expertise to foster innovation, introduce advanced technologies, and develop local talent to shape the future of Saudi cities.
The MoU was signed by the CEO of Misk City David Henry and the President of Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia Hendrick Lee on the sidelines of the Misk Global Forum. The agreement focuses on key areas such as knowledge exchange, smart city solutions, and empowering local youth through targeted training and development programs.
Henry said that the partnership with Samsung “represents an important step in line with Misk City’s strategic vision of creating an integrated system that supports innovation and creativity among Saudi youth.”
According to the statement, the collaboration will include developing and hosting initiatives designed to enhance the skills of Saudi youth, particularly in smart city experiences. These programs will be delivered within Misk City, a hub dedicated to innovation and learning.
As part of the partnership, Samsung Electronics is exploring the establishment of a showroom and interactive experience center within Misk City. The center will feature AI-powered smart technologies, offering visitors an immersive experience of smart homes and offices, along with insights into future innovations.
