The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has added Milaha’s new “MIX 2” shipping service to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The new shipping service aims to improve the flow of exports and imports through the port, in line with the port’s goal of boosting operational efficiency. The initiative comes as part of Mawani’s strategy to bolster Saudi Arabia’s ranking on the maritime network connectivity index, enhance operational efficiency across ports, and strengthen the country’s ties with global markets.
By supporting the movement of national exports and imports, this initiative contributes to the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to elevate Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub and a crossroads for three continents.
Milaha’s new “MIX 2” shipping service connects the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with the ports of Umm Qasr in Iraq, as well as Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, with a capacity of 1,700 standard containers. With its enhanced capacity and connectivity, the “MIX 2” shipping service will foster economic growth.
Through collaborations with leading global shipping lines, Mawani enhances Saudi ports, improving competitiveness, expanding maritime transport routes, upgrading infrastructure, and optimizing procedures related to operational and logistical services.
Recently, Mawani launched “JRS” shipping service by Global Feeder Shipping at Jeddah Islamic Port. This service links the Kingdom to ports in Egypt, Oman, and India, thereby enhancing maritime connectivity and boosting operational efficiency. With a capacity of 800 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), the service elevates the port’s capacity and connectivity.
