The third edition of the ‘Make It in the Emirates Forum’ has started in Abu Dhabi, under the theme “Invest. Innovate. Grow.”.
The forum is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and ADNOC Group.
The ‘Make It in the Emirates Forum’ features local and international participation, including senior government decision-makers and officials, as well as CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors, industrialists, experts, innovators, and representatives of financial institutions.
Furthermore, it offers a valuable networking and knowledge exchange platform for the industrial community, both locally and internationally.
The event brings together decision-makers, government and private sector officials, experts, entrepreneurs, financing entities, investors, startups, and SMEs, with the primary goal of showcasing investment opportunities within the local industrial sector, as per the reports.
This edition builds on the success of the previous two, which generated around $32 billion (AED120 billion) worth of local procurement opportunities in priority sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, telecommunications, space, healthcare, and food and beverages.
According to the statement, these opportunities include 1,400 products available for local manufacturing, which are identified to enhance industrial resilience and self-sufficiency by supporting import substitutions.
Further, the forum will feature a series of panel discussions exploring the UAE’s industrial strategy, Operation 300bn, AI integration in industry, the UAE’s ambitions to attract investments in the space sector, and how green technology can be deployed to decarbonize industry. There will also be sessions on sustainable manufacturing and the convergence of industries to accelerate smart mobility.
