Saudi Arabia’s King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC) has entered into partnerships with Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ) and FedEx on the sidelines of the Global Logistics Forum 2024.

KSIADC also joined the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), aiming to revolutionize the region’s logistics sector and elevate the industry’s services, to cement the Kingdom’s status as one of the world’s leading logistics and air cargo centers.

Marco Mejia, Acting Chief Executive at KSIADC, highlighted the significance of the partnerships in reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub, also stressing that the partnerships reaffirm the company’s dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s economic development by providing a world-class airport and leading logistics and cargo solutions system.

The collaboration between KSIADC and SILZ, the first special economic zone in Saudi Arabia, seeks to enhance coordination in operational processes and develop infrastructure to boost Riyadh’s air cargo capabilities.

Strategically located, King Salman International Airport connects three continents, enhancing the efficiency of the economic zone located within the airport. The zone offers access to global air routes and the largest consumer market in the Middle East. The partnership aims to enhance the movement of goods and strengthen logistics operations for businesses in Riyadh.

Dr. Fadi Al-Buhairan, SILZ Chief Executive, stated that the partnership with King Salman International Airport plays a key role in strengthening Riyadh’s position as a regional and global hub for logistics and air cargo services. “Together, we will create an attractive environment for international investors and drive economic growth forward,” added Dr. Fadi.

Under the partnership, both parties will work to enhance logistics solutions and supply chains at King Salman International Airport. They aim to transfer knowledge, implement best practices and advanced logistics solutions, in addition to exploring new opportunities in the logistics, distribution, and shipping sectors in the Kingdom.
