Instagram, the Meta-owned American photo and video sharing social networking service, has launched a set of new features to make it easier for users to remove posts, comments, and other activity from the platform.
The new feature, called “Your Activity,” allows users to delete comments and posts in bulk, review past interactions on their accounts, and search for content by date.
In addition, users will be able to sort and filter their content and interactions and search for past comments, likes and stories replies from specific date ranges, all in one place. Users can also find recently deleted or archived content, check out the search history, see the links visited and the amount of time spent on the platform and download information.
Instagram has been testing the feature since the end of last year. According to the company, the new features are a part of the initiatives it has been taking to keep users and their accounts safer and give users more control over their activities.
Earlier this month, Instagram unveiled the Take a Break feature. The feature allows users to set up reminders to take a break from scrolling after a certain amount of time and can be optionally enabled by all users on the service. Take a Break will join Instagram’s existing Daily Limit feature that allows users to set a limit on how much time they want to spend on the app daily.
The company had also introduced a ‘Security checkup’ for people whose accounts may have been hacked. Now, this feature is available to everyone worldwide.
According to reports, to help people who have lost access to their accounts, Instagram is testing a way for people to ask their friends to confirm their identity and regain access to their account.
