Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), an Indian oil and gas refining company, has launched its lubricant range of products in Qatar, indicating a boost in trade and commerce ties between Qatar and India.
At the function to mark the partnership and the launch, attended by prominent personalities of Qatar, HPCL unveiled its new project in collaboration with ABN Corporation.
Representing a great deal of pride for India, the HPCL products were launched in Qatar by the Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr. Deepak Mittal at a mega event in Doha.
HPCL is one of the most renowned companies in India and markets its products in Qatar together with the HPCL ABN Corporation, which manufactures and markets high-quality products. It has appointed Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad Transport and Trading, the flagship wing of ABN Corporation, as the exclusive distributor for the HPCL lubricant range of products in Qatar.
The launch of HPCL marks a new milestone in the five-decade history of Qatar-based ABN Corporation’s business and service operations.
Padma Shri Late CK Menon, a prominent industrialist and philanthropist, is the founder of the ABN Group, which was established by Mr. Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad. The ABN Group is a large business group operating in Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, India, Africa, and the UK.
“The current period is one of the strongest in terms of trade and commercial relations between the two countries. Launching this business initiative is an important step in the development of bilateral cooperation. HPCL is one of India’s most traditional and proud world-class brands.”
ABN Corporation Chairman Mr. J K Menon said that “India is the country where I’m born and Qatar is the country where I live, where I have my home. So doing something to promote business between these two countries is my priority. The joint venture with HPCL comes as part of its efforts to promote business between Qatar and India.”
As chief guests on the occasion, HPCL Lubes Division Executive Director Mr. Sajay Kumar Aggarwal and HPCL Lubes Sales Division Deputy General Manager Mr. Ajay Singh were present on the occasion.
“HPCL is ready to launch HPCL products in several countries in collaboration with ABN Corporation and to strengthen business and commercial activities,” said Mr. Aggarwal.
As part of the partnership, HPCL will initially focus on the marketing of automotive and industrial lubricants.
Among those attending the product launch were directors of ABN Corporation Behzad Group, heads of various Qatari business groups, senior officials from various government departments, officials from the Indian Embassy, presidents of Indian apex bodies like ICC, ICBF, IBPC, and representatives from various organizations representing the Indian community.
