Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has introduced business services through the platform of the Saudi Business Centre to enhance the Kingdom’s business sector.

The objective of this initiative is to simplify the process of starting and overseeing economic activities by adhering to global best practices. The GEA’s services are a part of its move to broaden investment as well as the commercial activities in Saudi Arabia.

The first phase consists of the issuance of licenses for operating entertainment facilities, managing artistic and entertainment facilities, and providing crowd management accreditation certificates. Additional services and licenses will be provided in the next phase.

The launch of these services highlights the GEA’s commitment to boosting investment opportunities in the entertainment industry as well as the unwavering efforts to diversify the national economy. From getting the permission to begin and operate the entertainment venues to managing other activities, the initiative will benefit the businesses by streamlining the process of obtaining the licenses.

This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, the GEA’s efforts to contribute to the economic development while flourishing investment opportunities. Under the mission, the GEA aims to create a dynamic entertainment environment that not only fosters investments, but also promotes sustainable growth.

The GEA, established in 2016, has been flourishing rapidly. Through this program, Saudi intents to invest $64 billion in the entertainment industry, which is expected to become a significant contributor of the nation’s economy and provide employment for around 100,000 people. The Kingdom also seeks to emerge as a global entertainment destination.
