The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has entered into a partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) to promote tax culture in the UAE.

Khalid Ali Al Bustani, FTA Director General, and Omar Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The objective of this agreement is to strengthen relations between the FTA and the Establishment to create a solid foundation for collaboration across various fields.

The MoU seeks to organize joint activities to emphasize the significance of complying with tax legislation as well as its role in supporting the UAE’s effort to transform the national economy, expand sustainable resources and bring more prosperity to the UAE nationals.

The agreement supports the FTA’s strategic plan to promote the tax awareness and education, with an emphasis on educating all stakeholders about tax implemented in the UAE, such as VAT, Excise Tax and Corporate Tax, and how they’re applied to taxpayers.

“Signing this Memorandum of Understanding with the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment contributes to establishing an effective framework for joint collaboration between our two entities. The FTA Director-General emphasized that the Maskan smart application launched by FTA is a significant step as it provides additional facilities for the UAE citizens to reclaim VAT they paid on building their new homes through 100 percent digital procedures.

Omar Hamad Bu Shehab stated that, “We at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment are pleased to collaborate with the Federal Tax Authority on this important initiative. Raising tax awareness among citizens, particularly regarding housing construction, is crucial. This collaboration contributes positively to our goal of empowering citizens to build their homes easily and conveniently and aligns perfectly with our wise leadership’s vision of providing a dignified and stable life for all citizens. Through this partnership, we aim at providing the necessary information and guidance to simplify the procedures involved, and we look forward to offering the essential facilities associated with reclaiming VAT on housing construction.”
