One of the largest banking groups in the Middle East, Emirates NBD has partnered with the global leader in innovative payment technology, IDEMIA in order to launch the Emirates’ first payment card from recycled plastic.
As part of its continued commitment to sustainability, Emirates NBD brings the country’s first recycled PVC payment card with the support of IDEMIA. Emirates NBD has been the driving force behind various first-to-market payment solutions as a leader in digital banking innovation.
The bank will reinforce its position by being the first bank to offer customers an environmentally friendly credit card, according to the statement.

IDEMIA is a member of the Greener Payment Partnership, which aims to reduce the usage of the first-use PVC in card production. The GREENPAY card from IDEMIA is made up of over 85 percent recycled PVC generated from production waste. This cutting-edge eco-friendly payment card promotes resource conservation and promises to fundamentally change the way organizations create, utilize, and recycle plastics.
