Elon Musk’s xAI, a key player in the artificial intelligence industry, has launched Grok AI chatbot as a standalone iOS app in the U.S, offering all the features available on the web version of the chatbot.

This pioneering app, currently in its beta phase, enables users to seamlessly generate images, search the web and X to find real-time information, and generate essays and emails, elevating user experience to new heights.

The launch of Grok AI iOS app was revealed by the official handle of xAI on X (previously known as ‘Twitter’). To use the app’s cutting-edge features, users do not need to login. The Grok AI app allows users to sign in with either their X account or via Apple account. However, signing in with the X account allows users to enjoy more personalized experience.

xAI started testing the Grok AI iOS app in December across several countries. No update has been made regarding the app’s Android release. Initially, Grok can only be accessed by X Premium subscribers, but now the service has expanded its reach to all users, positioning itself alongside popular free AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

The iOS app is powered by the Grok 2 AI model, the same large language model which also powers the web-based free and premium versions. The iOS app version does not include the “Fun mode” feature, possibly limited to X Premium subscribers.
