Mr. Elon Musk, the billionaire, and owner of microblogging platform Twitter, has tweeted that Twitter would be changing its logo to an “X” and that all the birds will be disappearing from the platform.
In a series of tweets, Mr. Musk said that “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” And also posted, “Paint It Black,” before launching a user poll to “Change default platform color to black.”
“If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow,” Mr. Musk continued.
“Like this but X,” Mr. Musk added above an illustration of the iconic bird silhouette but against a black background.
Musk, best known for his innovative efforts to launch rockets and build electric cars through companies such as SpaceX and Tesla, is now making the news for his wild behavior and quirky remarks on his personal Twitter account, where he frequently shares conspiracy theories and engages in public spats.
Musk acquired Twitter in April of 2022, followed by dramatic case suits and eventually announcing a walk away. But the latter finalized the acquisition for $44 billion. After the acquisition, the world witnesses a bizarre takeover mess created by Mr. Musk after he fired several top executives, including previous CEO Mr. Parag Agrawal.
Since the takeover, Mr. Musk has made many changes to Twitter features. From its privacy features to abandoning its blue verification mark, Musk-owned Twitter has been subjected to many changes which sometimes faced backlashes.
