The Abu Dhabi Government has unveiled an elite hackathon and pioneering AI-enabled projects at GITEX Global 2024.
The launch aims to cement the emirate’s status as a global leader in AI-driven governance. More than 30 Abu Dhabi government entities and partners participate at the Abu Dhabi Pavilion under the theme “Towards an AI-native Government”.
In addition to the four-day cyber hackathon and “GovGPT” by the Department of Government Enablement (DGE), GITEX’s first day witnessed the launches of “Bayaan – The Unified Decision-Making Platform” by Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD), and “AI ALC Audiobooks” by the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT).
The “DGE Elite Hackathon”, the main attraction of Abu Dhabi’s participation, seeks to unlock the UAE’s top cyber talent. It invites university students specializing in defense-security, offensive and active security, threat intelligence, and vulnerability assessment.
Participants will engage in a thrilling challenge where they must protect their systems while attempting to breach those of their opponents, navigating through advanced live cyber threats.
GovGPT, an AI-driven knowledge agent tailored for the Abu Dhabi Government, is designed to empower government employees with easy access to resources and information. With self-service features and a growing library of AI tools, such as PowerPoint Builder and Tone-of-Voice checker, GovGPT seeks to streamline daily operations and improve department productivity.
Bayaan – the Unified Decision-Making Platform by SCAD is an advanced data platform that aims to enhance data collection, analysis, and visualization. Bayaan provides government entities and private organizations with actionable insights that facilitate informed decision-making.
With the integration of cutting-edge AI capabilities such as predictive analytics and machine learning, the platform enables proactive responses to challenges, promoting transparency and collaboration across government sectors. Ultimately, Bayaan aims to improve public services and enhance community engagement, for a better quality of life for residents.
The DCT’s AI ALC Audiobooks mark a key step in utilizing AI technology within the publishing sector. This initiative includes ten titles from the “Emirates Documentation” series, showcasing pivotal Emirati publications.
By leveraging a rich archive of audio recordings that reflect natural human pronunciation, this project analyses contextual pronunciation and sentence structure to elevate the audiobook experience to new heights. This endeavor falls in line with the UAE government’s vision to boost AI and foster cultural heritage.
The Abu Dhabi Government will showcase its innovative solutions at GITEX Global 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with an emphasis on AI-powered solutions and data-driven decision-making. This move will solidify Abu Dhabi’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhancing the quality of the life.
