As part of the Dubai economy’s mission to boost innovation, local entrepreneurship and economic development, Dubai SME has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the American multinational company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
The new partnership is in line with the execution of the Innovation Attraction Program (IAP) initiated by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports, Dubai SME, an agency of Dubai Economy. The MoU was signed under the presence of Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME and Ahmad Alkhallafi, Managing Director of HPE UAE.
The IAP, designed and executed by the Dubai SME, an agency that is mandated to promote the small and medium enterprises in the region seeks to secure the emirate’s position as a global hub for innovative technologies and solutions.
Through this program, Dubai SME targets to attract more than 25,000 innovative and emerging companies and solutions in six sectors including space, transportation and mobility, energy efficiency, medicine and health, education and information technology from around the world.
IAP is considered to be a huge contributor in achieving the vision of the emirate and the Dubai SME Plan 2021 which focuses on uplifting the SME leadership and competitiveness by bringing innovation and creating high-growth economic opportunities.
Under the MoU, Dubai SME will be allowed to refer innovative firms to the ‘HPE Digital Life Garage’, and receive the benefits of the HPE’s expertise and facilities to promising tech enterprises. In return, HPE will aid in strengthening IAP to attract and encourage upcoming technology companies and innovative SMEs.

HPE Middle East will offer the SMEs space and time at the HPE Digital Life Garage’s Digital Life Lab to help them to develop, test and demonstrate solutions to meet the needs of the customer. HPE will also support SMEs in Dubai to widen their network with global start-ups with similar aspirations and universities and research centers around the world.
Dubai SME will also utilize its internal network and partnership to promote HPE and its Digital Life Garage within the Government and the SMEs in the emirate.
