The Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company (Tahakom) and Dubai Police have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, traffic management, and violation monitoring to enhance public safety.
The signing ceremony was sponsored by Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazroue, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, who highlighted the keenness of Dubai Police’s efforts to benefit from modern advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence.
Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Salem, Vice President of Business and Partnerships Sector, who represented Tahakom, said that Tahakom will contribute to achieving Dubai Police’s ambitions to increase the economic value provided by adopting optimal driving behavior and the advanced traffic services approach, in addition to benefiting from AI in enhancing detection accuracy and providing biometric solutions and automatic vehicle identification.
The cooperation includes analyzing and investing the daily monitored data while providing qualitative solutions for digital identity services in the field of security and safety, to improve the road crossing experience and the consequent traffic violations such as not fastening the safety belt and using a mobile phone whilst driving, within several basic criteria and indicators adopted by smart cities.
The agreement comes as an extension of the efforts of the strategic vision of Tahakom to provide solutions and services for smart cities at the regional and international levels, as a continuation of previous successes in the field of applying artificial intelligence systems to public traffic safety solutions at the level of the Kingdom.
