Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has introduced Gig Economy and PropTech Sandboxes under the Dubai Sandbox initiative.
The two new sandboxes aim to accelerate innovation and regulatory advancements in the gig economy and PropTech sectors. Sandbox Dubai, a centralized and pioneering platform, offers a structured approach to regulatory modernization, enabling innovators and companies to test their products, services, and business models under adaptive regulatory supervision.
It is recently approved by His Highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation.
The initiative plays a crucial role in driving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), focusing to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next 10 years while elevating its position among the top three economies of the future.
Gig Economy
The Gig Economy Sandbox seeks to explore more flexible ways of working for Dubai’s population and inform relevant regulatory frameworks in key industries to ensure their readiness for the future.
PropTech
The PropTech Sandbox aims to cultivate a regulatory environment that boosts the adoption of latest technologies for enhanced efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility of Dubai’s real estate sector.
His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, highlighted the role of ‘Sandbox Dubai’ in bringing together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to collaboratively shape regulations and accelerate regulatory modernization across significant industries.
Khalfan Juma Belhoul also added that the initiative cultivates a supportive environment to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, innovative practices, and emerging business models. This is to enhance the agility of Dubai’s economy and labor markets, cementing the city’s position as a global leader in embracing future-forward practices and technologies.
