Dubai Customs, a government department that focuses on sustainable development and promotes Dubai’s image worldwide, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aramex, a leader in logistics and transportation.
This partnership aims to boost the “Seamless Inspections” initiative, an innovative solution developed by Dubai Customs. The initiative provides businesses the convenience of having their shipments inspected at their own warehouses rather than customs centers, and at a time that suits them, reducing logistics costs and accelerating customs clearance.
This move seeks to enhance operational efficiency and flexibility for companies, improving the overall reliability and effectiveness of the supply chain, while reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading global trade hub.
The agreement was signed by Mansoor Al Malik, Executive Director for policies and legislation Division, Dubai Customs, and Tarek Abu Yaghi, General Manager of Aramex. The signing ceremony took place during GITEX Global 2024, a flagship tech & startup show taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
Al Malik highlighted that this initiative falls is line with Dubai’s economic objectives, aiming to streamline foreign trade and enhance business practices. Al Malik also expressed his hope that this pioneering solution will positively impact trade operations and contribute to the growth of Dubai’s global commerce.
Tarek Abu Yaghi emphasized the significance of the partnership, stressing its pivotal role in enhancing business operations while highlighting the successful collaboration with Dubai Customs to offer cutting-edge customs services. Abu Yaghi also confirmed that Aramex is committed to supporting the successful implementation of the initiative.
