Doha Film Institute has hosted the ‘Geekdom Game Development Workshop’, in partnership with Media City Qatar, to foster innovation and game development.

This collaboration aims to foster a vibrant creative industry and a robust media landscape. The workshop, held at Doha Film Institute’s headquarters, covered various topics including Introduction to Game Development, Understanding Game Design, Creating Game Elements, Basic Movement, Enhancing Gameplay, Animation and Interactivity, Collectibles and Scores, and Level Design and Testing.

The game development workshop, hosted in partnership with COREGAME and powered by Media City Qatar, featured some leading industry experts from Geekdom and COREGAME Technology Solutions. Fadi Soufi, founder of COREGAME Technology Solutions, and Dave Andrew, a game artist at COREGAME, delivered engaging sessions, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of game development and innovation.

Geekdom, launched in 2013 by Doha Film Institute, is Qatar’s largest one-of-a-kind pop culture event. The event offers a vibrant platform to connect with motion arts and visual storytelling, including art, film, music, video games, animation and television.

Geekdom’s achievements have fueled the growth of a new industry in Qatar, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of creativity and innovation. This initiative also aligns with Qatar’s vision to drive innovation and technological progress.
