Digital Dubai has started taking steps to adopt the Strategic Vision for the Data Centre Economy in Dubai, in collaboration with its partners in the government as well as private sectors.

The vision, approved by the Executive Council, aims to reinforce Dubai’s position as a leading example of future economies powered by cutting-edge technologies. This falls in line with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to raise the productivity of Dubai’s economy by 50 percent through digital innovation.

Digital Dubai has carried out a scientific and realistic analysis of the current situations, concluding that there are many coordination opportunities for concerned parties to attract and establish possible data centers for AI, and to turn Dubai into an attractive destination for this type of investment.

A study by Digital Dubai shows that implementing the strategic vision for AI supported data centers will generate added value and is anticipated to flourish more job opportunities in the digital economy related to data centers. Furthermore, this move will enhance Dubai’s readiness for next-generation technologies such as Meta verse, Smart Cities and the Internet of Things.

Digital Dubai is working together with Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Municipality, the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to take coordinated steps for improving Dubai’s readiness for the future economy and to consolidate Dubai’s position.

The implementation of this strategic vision will create new dynamics, paving the way for reaching a state of comprehensive integration and coordination between entities operating in this field. These initiatives comprise developing high-performance computing, ensuring the use of advanced data centers, increasing the use of renewable energy, improving access to renewable energy and the process of saving energy as well as enhancing the coordination of government role in terms of planning, land, energy and other.
