Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has entered into a partnership with Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), a leading stock exchange based in China, to enhance cross-border trading and investment opportunities.
Chen Feng, Director of International Cooperation Department at SZSE, and Afra Al Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Central Securities Depository, a subsidiary of DFM, signed the MoU. H.E. Sha Yan, Chairperson, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, H.E Ou Boqian, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, and Hamed Ali, CEO of Dubai Financial Market & Nasdaq Dubai were also present during the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, the two parties will collaboratively conduct road shows, seminars, training programs as well as research initiatives with an aim to promote the development of capital markets in the UAE and China. Both exchanges will explore dual-listing, ETFs, mutual display of indices and fixed-income products.
In addition to this, the strategic partnership will serve as a catalyst for the exchange of experience and insights in key areas, including market and product development, regulatory and ESG practices and IT capacity building. This will lead to deeper collaboration in the future.
The representative from SZSE highlighted that the exchange has advanced high-standard two-way opening up. This agreement marks a significant opportunity to hold bilateral road shows and promotional activities, enhance cross-border two-way investment and financing products and channels as well as strengthening the cooperation between the two countries by contributing to the capital market’s capacity to serve the real economies of the UAE and China.

A private event was held following the signing ceremony, which includes panel sessions with industry experts. The discussions, held at Nasdaq Dubai, delve into the dynamics and future prospects in the Dubai-China capital markets, strategic cooperation and insights into the latest developments in China’s capital market regulations.
