Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in collaboration with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of DEWA, has successfully completed the migration of its SAP Hana Enterprise Cloud to SAP RISE, hosted at Moro Hub’s green data centers.
These data centers are powered by the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, enabling DEWA to benefit from greater scalability, flexibility, and innovation through a robust and secure cloud infrastructure. This upgrade will enhance the experience of DEWA’s stakeholders and support the provision of exceptional services to customers.
“The transition to SAP RISE enhances DEWA’s capabilities in securely storing data within a cloud environment certified by the Dubai Electronic Security Centre. This ensures the security and privacy of DEWA’s data and strengthens its defenses against cyber threats through early detection. Additionally, DEWA will benefit from SAP’s future innovation in generative AI, IoT, and machine learning, enabling the continued delivery of reliable, world-class services to all stakeholders. SAP RISE also supports DEWA in streamlining operations and establishing a resilient digital infrastructure. The migration to the SAP RISE platform aligns with our commitment to the vision and directives of the wise leadership to harness digital technologies and AI to improve performance and quality of life.”
“This move is part of our ongoing efforts to accelerate DEWA’s digital transformation and optimize operational efficiency by employing the latest disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It also aligns with the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the Dubai 10X initiative, which calls for the Government of Dubai to be a global leader that is 10 years ahead of other cities through government innovation,” added Al Tayer.
Since 2018, Moro Hub has been a certified provider of the SAP Hana Enterprise Cloud computing platform. In 2022, Moro was certified by SAP as a RISE partner, becoming the first locally accredited provider in the UAE to deliver secure SAP cloud services. These services are hosted at Moro’s Green Data Centre, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest solar-powered data center in the world.
